The operational problem
A consultation platform needs to coordinate more than a calendar. Clients, consultants and administrators interact with the same appointments, while payments, conversations and background processing must follow consistent rules.
SooJustAsk brings these workflows into a multi-tenant platform, with explicit business policies and separate workers for appointment lifecycle, notifications and translation.

Engineering decisions
Give background work its own lifecycle
Appointment, notification and translation workers use queue-backed processing. Long-running and retryable work is kept separate from the browser request lifecycle.
Handle payment callbacks deliberately
Payment logic verifies provider callbacks and accounts for already-processed events. Credits and payment state are part of the domain, not just a successful checkout screen.
Reliability and maintenance
- Service tests for auth, appointments, payments, chat and administrative workflows.
- Container and release-verification checks in the delivery workflow.
- Backup and restore-drill tooling with dedicated operations documentation.
Testing and delivery
The workspace contains a React/Vite frontend, an Express API, shared contracts and database libraries, and background workers. CI includes typechecking, critical backend tests, application and container builds, and release verification. A complete container smoke cycle is available as an explicit opt-in check.
